Gülen: The One who Relies on Moral Values Would'nt have Fears
M. Fethullah Gülen, who is currently in the US receiving medical treatment, sent important messages to Turkey which has taken a very serious turn on its way to accession to the European Union.
Gülen, in a written statement, said: "It is expected that starting from October 3; our country will grow stronger in view of the respect for human rights and the devotion to democratic precedents, as well as rise to the level of prosperous societies economically. This is not a process that doesn't worry our man who is well aware of the meaning he expresses on earth. Nobody who knows his own values and believes in them, and who relies on his nation and the moral values of his nation, would or should be afraid of such dealings. In case the right steps are taken, Turkey will gain advantage from this process God willing."
Gülen, who pointed out that Turkey came to an important point in the "Westernization" process that started with the Tanzimat period (period of administrative reforms) and continued with the Republic, said, the most important door has been opened on the eve of half-century of efforts' that are finally bearing fruit.
There are many things the Turkish historical experiences of thousands of years will give to Europe today, just as it did in the past, Gülen continued.
"They will certainly profit from Turkey's dynamism and unity of strong values. This point that has been reached should be considered as the fruit of a consistent strategy followed by both our state and our statesmen.
"We hope that in those days when we feel the winds of mercy of the Holy Ramadan, the decision taken regarding Turkey's full membership to the EU will be beneficial for our nation, European Union member countries and the world, and benefit peace, global peace and dialogue.
"I hope that Ramadan, the month of mercy and forgiveness will embrace us with its abundance and be instrumental in healing the pains humanity suffers..."
